YOUR ROLE

The Data Analyst is a key early member of Stio's Data & Analytics team, working alongside the Director of Data & Analytics to expand how the business uses data to make decisions. This is a full-stack, horizontal role: the work spans data infrastructure (ingestion, modeling, transformation) through analysis, BI development, and direct stakeholder partnership across Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Inventory Planning, and B2B. You'll work where the highest-leverage problems are and grow the breadth and depth of the analytics function in the process.

You'll work in a stack built around Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI, GitHub, and increasingly Python in addition to SQL and R. AI-assisted development is the default form factor for the team. Most of the code we ship is written collaboratively with AI agents in tools like Claude Code, then reviewed, tested, and iterated. The expectation is not that you arrive an expert in AI tooling. This is a remote role that is part of the Finance department and reports to the Director of Data & Analytics.

Your Responsibilities

• Partner directly with stakeholders across the business (Product Development, Marketing, DTC, B2B, Finance, Operations, Inventory Planning) to translate ambiguous questions into well-defined analyses, dashboards, and data products. You'll own these end-to-end: scoping, building, validating, and communicating findings
• Build and maintain dbt models that turn raw source-system data into trustworthy, well-documented datasets. Write the tests and documentation that let both humans and AI agents downstream rely on the work
• Develop and maintain the semantic context, dashboards, and reports that the rest of the business uses to operate day-to-day
• Own metric definitions and business semantics. Drive alignment when stakeholders disagree on what a definition or number means
• Review and harden AI-generated SQL, dbt models, and Python code with the judgment to catch issues that pass tests but are semantically wrong. The majority of your output will be code you've collaborated on with AI agents, and you'll bring the data intuition that makes that work trustworthy
• Investigate ambiguous data questions where the answer isn't in the schema: talk to source-system owners, investigate edge cases, reconcile conflicting definitions, and improve our model of the business
• Help build and maintain Stio's data infrastructure — currently Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, R, and Python — and contribute to decisions about where the stack should evolve
• Improve data governance for both the Data & Analytics team and the business at large by creating documentation that's actually useful and that AI agents can consume as context for future work

Your Skills And Experience

• 3+ years of professional experience as a data analyst, analytics engineer, or similar role
• Advanced SQL: CTEs, window functions, comfortable wrangling messy real-world data, can read and reason about query plans well enough to know when something is off
• Hands-on experience with dbt, including writing models, tests, and documentation. You don't need to have built a dbt project from scratch, but you should be comfortable contributing to one and know what good looks like
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, Microsoft Fabric, or similar)
• Version control with Git/GitHub as part of your normal workflow
• Experience as a developer with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Omni, or similar)
• A real point of view on AI-assisted development for analytics work — what it's actually good at, where it falls down, what you do to make the output trustworthy
• History of building collaborative, trusting relationships with non-technical stakeholders

In your role as a real estate data entry operator, you will play a crucial role in upkeep and updating our database. The BI Reporting team is responsible for the development, validation, and deployments of data/sales reports. Who we are looking for

This is not a marketing internship. We are looking for someone who is genuinely analytical. The kind of person who opens a messy dataset and gets curious instead of overwhelmed. Who enjoys figuring out why a number moved. Who can read a chunk of SQL or Python and follow what it does, even if they would not write it from scratch. Who would otherwise be heading toward an analyst seat at a consulting firm or a product role at a startup.

If you love spreadsheets, you will feel at home here. If you have ever built a model in Excel just to understand something better, even more so.

What you will actually do

You will work directly with our Technical Account Management and Analytics teams on the parts of campaign management that require thinking, not clicking. That includes:

• Diagnosing why specific campaigns are underperforming and proposing fixes grounded in the data.
• Building and refining Excel and Sheets models that our account teams use to make decisions.
• Auditing campaigns at scale, often across hundreds of locations for a single brand, and surfacing patterns no one else has noticed.
• Pulling, cleaning, and analyzing performance data from Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and our internal platform.
• Helping operationalize new analytical workflows, including ones we are building on top of AI tooling.
• Contributing to internal projects that make our team faster and smarter.

You will not be writing ad copy or designing creative. You will be doing the analytical work that makes the campaigns actually perform.

What we want from you

• Current student or recent graduate, ideally with coursework in something quantitative. Economics, statistics, computer science, engineering, math, finance, or similar. A traditional marketing background is not what we are looking for here.
• Strong Excel chops. Comfort with pivot tables, lookups, conditional logic, and building models from scratch.
• Basic code literacy. You do not need to be a programmer, but you should be able to read SQL, Python, or JavaScript and roughly understand what it is doing.

About the Role

Working within our Data Team, we are seeking an Analyst to conduct and perform research and analysis tasks to develop and maintain our core data assets, people intelligence. The incumbent will actively participate in the development of our data operation activities while ensuring the accuracy and quality of our people intelligence data product. This role is ideal for data enthusiasts and problem solvers, keen on exercising ownership with a passion for empowering users and customers with information solutions that drive sales enablement and improve the collaboration between our customers and the people who are mission-critical to their organization.  We embrace a mindset of continuous learning and if you’re passionate about data collection, analysis, and development we want to hear from you!

Core Functions of the Role:

• Execute comprehensive data collection, development, and analysis supporting operational processes with a focus on relevance, precision, and accuracy
• Undertaking in-depth analysis into key entities within our People Intelligence data product ensuring current and accurate data
• Employ data analysis techniques to discern patterns, derive insights, and identify data quality discrepancies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to appraise data quality or to develop workflows contributing to enhancements in data completeness
• Perform in an agile environment, in an operational context while facilitating subject matter interactions between interdisciplinary teams

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with an interest in people intelligence
• 1-2 years of experience in data analysis and statistical research
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Strong time management practices and a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate across teams
• Proficiency in conducting sophisticated web-based research
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other data management systems
• Practical knowledge of data analytics tools like PowerBI, QuickSight or others is a plus

$40,000 - $55,000 a year
